Type of Membership

Our club layout resides in the historic Carpenter's Barn, on the grounds of the 128 year old Skunk Train in Fort Bragg, CA. Our layout undergoes perpetual improvement and Regular membership entitles you to:

  • work, assist, operate and embellish our layout
  • run trains from our own collection
  • set up and enjoy Live Steam Events (to be announced)
  • Meet with and enjoy the company of like-minded model railroad enthusiasts

Although many of our members are model train enthusiasts, this is not a requirement. We welcome members with varied skills & talents.

Our layout needs members who enjoy/skilled at:

  • Scenicking
  • Electrical/electronics
  • Docents
  • Painting
  • Marketing, including:
    • Design and Place ads
    • Design literature
    • Getting literature placed in local businesses
  • Cleanup
  • Model making
  • Local history

Membership Levels:

Regular Membership includes:

  • Free admission for you and a guest to the MCMR&HS layout during open hours.
  • Voting rights
  • Admission to all MCMR&HS events
  • It is understood that a Regular Member will assist, as his or her ability allows, in operating, building or maintaining MCMR&HS facilities.

Supporting Membership includes:

  • Free admission for you to the MCMR&HS layout during open hours.
  • This is a Non-voting membership
  • Admission to all MCMR&HS events
  • Supporting Members may, but are not expected to, assist in building, operating or maintaining MCMR&HS facilities.

Dues:

Regular Membership: $35/year
Supporting Membership: $25/year

The membership year runs from July 1st to June 30th.  Members joining from July 1st to March 31st pay the full membership dues for that year, with membership renewal due on July 1st.  Members joining in April, May or June, will pay the full membership, but membership renewal will not be due until July 1st of the following year.

Note: Following an application to become a member, there is a 3 month probationary period after which the Board will conduct a final review of the application to confirm membership.

Our weekly breakfast meetings are held every Wednesday at 8 am at:

Monthly Club Meetings are normally held on the 4th Saturday of the month.

Mendocino Model Railroad and Historical Society is a 501(3)(c) Public Benefit Corporation.
Dues and donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.
