Digger Creek and Northern Railroad

We began building the Digger Creek and Northern Railroad in the local Botanical Gardens in October of 2009. By Thanksgiving 2009 we had 190 feet of track running. We held a Christmas Show in December of 2009 and ran trains continuously for 12 days through rain and hail (and occasional sunshine) to the delight of children aged 3 through 93. We demolished the railroad in February 2010. We conservatively estimate that some 12,000 people saw live steam and solar powered trains operating.
